Completing your view of applicant strengths

 

GRE Fee Reduction Program

The GRE Fee Reduction Program provides a substantial discount off of the test fee to:

  • individuals who can demonstrate financial need
  • Individuals who are unemployed and receiving unemployment compensation
  • national programs that work with underrepresented groups, first generation college students and students with financial need

Individuals who receive a GRE Fee Reduction voucher will pay $100 to register for the GRE General Test and/or 50% of the regular test fee for a GRE Subject Test (i.e., $75). Those registering for the General Test will also receive FREE access to the following GRE test preparation materials, a $110 value:

  • POWERPREP PLUS® Online Practice Test 1 ($45 value)
  • POWERPREP PLUS Online Practice Test 2 ($45 value)
  • ScoreItNow!™ Online Writing Practice ($20 value)

For those with financial need

A ETS oferece Vouchers de Redução de Taxas GRE a cidadãos dos EUA ou residentes estrangeiros que sejam idosos universitários ou licenciados universitários não inscritos que cumpram os requisitos de elegibilidade e planeiem fazer um teste GRE nos Estados Unidos, Porto Rico, Guam ou Ilhas Virgens Americanas.

College seniors:

  • receiving financial aid through an undergraduate college in the United States, U.S. Territories or Puerto Rico, and
  • who has a FAFSA Submission Summary that shows a Student Aid Index (SAI) of zero or less.

Unenrolled college graduates:

  • have applied for financial aid, and
  • have a FAFSA Submission Summary that shows a Student Aid Index (SAI) of zero or less.

To apply, students should complete the GRE Fee Reduction Request Form (PDF) and  follow the instructions on the form regarding submission of materials to ETS. Voucher numbers are sent to recipients via email within 2 weeks of ETS approval of the request.

 

Test takers who would like to retest

Test takers who would like to retest and have previously received a GRE Fee Reduction Voucher by submitting a FAFSA Submission Summary within the past year; can apply for another GRE Fee Reduction voucher by completing and submitting the GRE Fee Reduction Request Form (PDF) to ETS. Voucher numbers are sent to recipients via email within 2 weeks of ETS approval of the request.

 

For those who are unemployed

ETS also offers vouchers to individuals who can confirm that they are unemployed and receiving unemployment compensation and are planning to take a GRE test in the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam or U.S. Virgin Islands.

  • a U.S. citizen or resident alien and 18 years or age or older
  • currently unemployed and have become unemployed within the past six months
